Sound Minds Kids Labs are small-group, multi-age enrichment classes where kids can learn about how their minds work, practice useful everyday skills, and explore new strategies through music, storytelling, movement, games, and hands-on activities.

Music and stories are a big part of the experience, but these aren’t music lessons or literacy tutoring. We might use rhythm, instruments, songs, books, storytelling, creative writing, or imaginative play to explore ideas and practice skills like paying attention, shifting gears, remembering information, planning, communicating, solving problems, and working with others.

Kids won’t spend the class sitting and listening to a lesson about these skills. They’ll get to try things, make choices, solve problems, create, and experiment with different strategies while noticing what works for them.
There’s plenty of room for curiosity, humor, and different ways of thinking.

Kids Labs are for children who enjoy learning and creating with other kids, including those who could use more opportunities to practice executive functioning, communication, or social-emotional skills. No musical experience, diagnosis, or therapy referral is needed. These are enrichment classes, not therapy, music lessons, or tutoring.
 

Current Labs are offered for Grades K–2 and Grades 3–5, with activities and expectations adapted for each age group.
