Read a resource when you have five minutes. Join a Community Lab or conversation when a topic catches your interest. Come to a class or event when the timing works. There isn't one right way to participate in Sound Minds.
Membership + Classes & Events
You don't have to be a member to take part in Sound Minds classes and events. Most are open to anyone who wants to join us.
Membership is what connects the pieces. It gives you a place to continue the conversation, find useful resources, and take part in our monthly online Community Lab between in-person experiences. Members also receive special access and benefits for select Sound Minds classes and events.
Where we're starting
Our first membership resources and programs are centered on elementary-age kids and the adults who raise and support them. Current topics include executive functioning, communication, social-emotional development, relationships, routines and transitions, independence, learning differences, parenting, and more.
Kids and families are an important part of Sound Minds, but not the limit of where we're headed. As the community grows, so will the topics, groups, resources, and experiences we offer.

Who is the Founding Family Membership for?
Q
Our current membership is designed for families raising and supporting elementary-age kids. Some families may be looking for ideas around planning, flexibility, communication, emotions, friendships, routines, transitions, motivation, independence, or learning differences. Others may simply want to better understand how kids develop these skills and how to support them along the way.
No diagnosis, therapy referral, or particular kind of learner is required.
What kinds of resources will I find?

Topics draw from the things that come up in real life: executive functioning, communication, social-emotional development, parenting, relationships, routines and transitions, independence, motivation, learning differences, and more.
Resources might include a short guide that helps make sense of a behavior or skill, something practical to try at home, an activity or conversation prompt, a useful tool, recommended books or podcasts, curated research and articles, or perspectives from professionals. New topics and resources are added regularly.
How do Kids Lab and the membership fit together?

Kids Lab gives children opportunities to practice skills through doing—creating, experimenting, communicating, collaborating, problem-solving, adapting plans, and working through challenges. The membership helps connect those experiences to everyday life, giving the adults ways to understand the why behind the skills and ideas to try outside of class. You don't have to attend Kids Lab for the membership to be useful.
What if we can't attend an experience that month?

That's okay. We know family schedules are complicated. Membership isn't dependent on attending every class, event, or live gathering. You'll still have access to the online community, resources, ideas, and other membership offerings, and you can participate in the ways that work for you.
Can we try Kids Lab without becoming members?
Absolutely. Kids Lab is available as a $39 drop-in, space permitting. You don't need to join the membership to participate.

What does “Founding Family” mean?
You're joining Sound Minds while we're still in the early stages of building the community. The $30/month Founding Family rate is intentionally lower than the anticipated value of the full membership in recognition of families joining early while resources and community grow. Your participation and feedback will also help shape what Sound Minds becomes.

Is Sound Minds therapy?
No. Sound Minds provides enrichment, education, resources, experiences, and community. Professional knowledge informs what we create, but membership does not provide individualized clinical services.
